Introduction Loredana Anonymous gal was born in Bassano Del Grappa, Italy, a small, bourgeoisie, snobbish, and boring town. The daughter of an ex nun and an anxious inventor she found escape from the crushing sameness of early-1990’s Italy through the films of Pedro Almodovar, Alan Parker, and Zhang Yimou. Inspired to become a rule-breaking artist, not clear of which kind yet…. she dedicated herself to learning the rules of performing art and theater so that she might break them entirely. To this end, she earned a bachelor degree in Performing Art in Milan, where she took part in stylish and inscrutable dance theater productions. Forced to take a slave-job as an aerobic trainer in order to pay a monumental rent, she decided to move to Bologna and study Musical Theater at the Bernstein Musical Theater School. When her scholarship ran out, she determined to flee to New York City and try the tough life of being an illegal immigrant. After attending the Lee Strasberg Institute and the Susan Slavin Actors and Singers Academy and living the life of the “starving actor” she turned her attention to screenwriting, and filmmaking, beginning by making shorts and eventually writing her first feature film.
