About me

Gender Female
Occupation Registered Nurse
Location Auckland
Introduction Born in Germany and from the age of 13 dreamt of migrating to New Zealand. First I trained as nurse in London, then came to NZ with my first husband. Sadly our marriage ended. I now live in Auckland, after a spell in Fiji, Gisborne and Wanganui with my wonderful second husband John. We are blessed with a fabulous daughter and granddaughter. After several years in Nursing, Teaching and Educational Management, 10 years in Real Estate, I returned to Nursing in 2008 and now work in the Addiction Field. In 2006 aged 51 I walked my first pilgrimage. It was a fantastic and challenging experience and became the beginning of a new passion for me. So after the Camino Frances to Santiage de Compostela in Spain, came the route of St James through Austria in 2008, followed by the Czech Greenways (with my husband John). In 2009 I walked the Via Podiensis from Le Puy en Velay to St Jean Pied de Port through France. 2010 saw me back in France along the Via Gebennensis followed by the Robert Louis Stevenson trail. In May 2012 John aged 80! and I walked the Via Podiensis. Via Jacobi in Switzerland in 2013 and Via Regia and Via Baltica/Scandinavica in 2014 and 2015.
