| Introduction | I started working with food about 35 years ago at Gino’s Restaurant and Lounge in Des Moines, Iowa. The place had great food and was always busy. After a year I went to The Des Moines Club. I worked there a total of 15 years, started as a cook and finished as Executive Sous Chef. I left there to secure a Chef position and run my own kitchen. Our first stop was in Guttenberg, Iowa at Diamond Jo’s for about a year and then we moved to Burlington, Iowa to help open an Italian restaurant named DanTay’s. It was a cozy little place and I felt pretty good about the quality of the food. Since then I’ve worked a number of places one of them being Burlington Golf Club. While working there I had the pleasure to attend classes at the Culinary Institute of America on 3 different occasions. I used the education to help get certified with the American Culinary Federation and thanks to the help the club provided became a Certified Chef de Cuisine. I now work at Iowa Wesleyan College. Along with providing the students with meals, which I enjoy very much, we cater weddings, etc. and prepare a variety of nice meals for the college President. Thank you for visiting my blog! Enjoy!
