| Introduction | Born on the west coast, I've always been lowcountry lady at heart. The smell of salt marshes, the taste of fresh local seafood, the vibrant landscapes that literally takes your breath away... it always seemed like the Carolina lowcountry was our little secret. A place where life is so sweet that you never want things to change. And you never want to leave. Maybe that is why so much talent has been harbored here. Sure, there have been some local claims to national fame like boxing legend Joseph "Smoking Joe" Frazier and Grammy Award Winning band "Hootie and the Blowfish". However, many agree that the Carolinas are poorly represented on the national arts and entertainment stage. It just may be that life in the Lowcountry is so good that the true artists can't stand to leave. Which is why we need to bring the spotlight here, to the 843, so that the rest of the world can discover what we all have known for years... this is a lil' piece of paradise! |
