Introduction	Harris is a Marine Geophysicist/Oceanographer working as the Education & Outreach Coordinator for the Northern Gulf Institute at Mississippi State University. He is also a volunteer firefighter with Bell Schoolhouse Fire Department and a Captain with 2nd BDE/220th Military Police Headquarters at Jackson, MS. Additionally, Harris is a former faculty member with the MSU Department of Geosciences as well as former faculty at both Starkville Highschool (Mathematics) and Columbus (Cook) Elementary (Science and Mathematics). He is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems and Workforce Development with the MSU College of Education. As for fun, he's into Music, Sailing, Diving, and Caving... and pretty much anything that involves Beaches, Boats, Bars, or Ballads with a soundtrack provided by Jimmy Buffet, Dierks Bently and a little Toby Keith. Harris has sailed on most major seaways and a few rivers and set foot on every continent. He is a member of the following orders: Royal Domain of the Penguin (Red Nose), Northern Domain of the Polar Bear (Blue Nose), Golden Dragon, Golden Shellback, Order of the Rock, and Order of the Square Rigger.
