| Introduction | I'm from Erris originally and have been living and working in Castlebar for the last ten years. Married for 8 years to Siobhán, we have two kids; Ethan(7) and Eoin(5). I've been active in the Labour Party for the last 5 years. Why did I get involved? Well, my political interest was always there but there came a point when I became annoyed with the failures of this government to provide for people's basic needs. Issues like housing and childcare were just left on the backburner. No effort was made to make this country a fair society despite the fact that ordinary people were working really hard. I looked at the health situation and the overcrowding in schools and I decided that the only way to change the system was to work politically from within. I checked out the policies of a variety of political parties; but was blown away by Pat Rabbitte's "Fair Society" document, which basically described the kind of country I wanted to live in. |
| Interests | Chasing around after the kids, politics of course, watching Liverpool F.C., Fishing, getting away on short trips with the family, all the usual stuff. I also enjoy the odd pint of Guinness. |
| Favorite Movies | I love historical action movies: Gladiator, Michael Collins, Saving Private Ryan etc. I also love comedies |
| Favorite Music | I listen to all sorts. Anything with good drums in it: U2 are still the best band in the world. |
| Favorite Books | I love biographies, especially on famous historical characters. |
