Introduction Bronx boy, joined the suburban rush, ran last, finished 1st Teaneck HS, Returned to NYC to attend Columbia during the “riots.” Spent many hours in NYC studios of sculptor Michael Lekakis and painter Theo Hios. With an Eng. major and physics minor, relocated to Minneapolis, started up Experimental Col. U of MN and Bread & Roses commune. Played for The Alive and Trucking Theater, studied woodcarving with Chris Effrem. First woodshop 1974 Friends Meeting House, St. Paul. Located in Flagstaff 1977, began Flying Circus Studios, amalgam of fine woodworking, aircraft fabrication and flight instructing. Matchmade by Navajo woman to my wife of over 30 years, Sara. Son Joshua Lipton runs the bikeshophub.com, and daughter Melanie is a UA doctoral student in geography and avid hiker/biker. Showed at Agnisiuh Gallery, won 1st place in Vision: Southwest, showed much at Coconino Center for the Arts. Major works include now gone spiral staircase at Pulliam Field, reception center furniture at The Arboretum at Flagstaff, desks Coconino County Board of Supervisors room, all sanctuary furnishings The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, display circle at Babbitt’s Backcountry Outfitters.
