About me

Occupation Veterinarian
Location Sydney, Australia
Introduction I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in July 2008. In one week I went from not having any idea I had cancer to having it in my breasts, liver, lymph node and bones. Not liking the treatment options in Australia I eventually ended up in Germany via a very good holistic doctor in Sydney. This blog is an attempt to diarise the day to day ups and downs of treatments and recuperations and the changes cancer has brought to me, my partner, my family and my friends lives. Cancer has not just affected me but also the people around me. My aim is to find the joy in life even when it gets tough and to not only survive but to thrive. It seems there is nothing like imminent death to make me appreciate life. By the beginning of 2010, my last PET scan of October 28, 2009 was officially declared(by second opinion) free of any visible tumours. So that means the 15 tumour masses I started with were gone. Quite an achievment. Unfortunately by October 2010 I had two tumours, one recurring in the spine and one new one in the right armpit. So I continue to do everything I can to achieve wellbeing and health. My motto of Survive and Thrive continues.
