| Introduction | Ordinary Man Publishing recently (January 2017) put out a new book My Battle With Asperger's & Saint Augustine by August Stine August is a pen name. The author attended a fundamentalist Christian university. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Bible and joined the Air Force. Later, he and his new wife obtained teaching certificates at the Christian university. He continued studies while she taught school. He obtained an M.A. degree and was working on a doctorate when their finances reached a critical point. They were teachers in a Christian school for two years. Then they became college professors in a Christian College for the next seven years. He was also pastor of a church during those years. His crisis with Christianity occurred about that time. He resigned his tenured professor position and his pastorate. He abandoned the Christian way of life. His wife came along, but never broke with her faith as he did. |
