| Introduction | Born on January 23, 1962, in Jangkang (Djo), Sanggau, West Borneo, Sarawak-Malaysia border. In 1982 graduated from high school in Sekadau. Moved to Malang took a philosophy course. While in college, working part time in the daily Suara Indonesia, the city news desk, his initial is X-5. In 1990 Hidup magazine editor and correspondent for UCA News, headquartered in Hong Kong. In 1992 the editor of PT Grasindo until 2005. 2005-2006 managing editor of PT Index, Gramedia Group. Since January 8, 2007, lecturer of Faculty of Communication Sciences of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. He is coordinator of MPK course and teach Creative Writing, Critical Thinking and Literary Journalism. Since 1984 Masri wrote 4,116 articles and features published in the local, national and internationally media. Since the novel Flamboyan Kembali Berbunga published in 1987, he has written and published 56 books. Korrie Layun Rampan in Leksikon Susastra Indonesia (2000:390) noted Masri as one of the contributors to Indonesian literature. Writing for him is like oxygen. Masri currently is studying media studies at the Program Pasca Sarjana Universitas Pelita Harapan, Magister Ilmu Komunikasi. |
