Introduction | Mick was born in 1972 in Brum and was hooked on fishing from a young age, wetting a line in the local waters like Packington Somers near Meriden his backyard playground until his late teens. That’s when the roar of raves and the pull of DJ decks lured him into Birmingham’s nightlife. The rods were swapped for records, and carp talk turned into club tunes. Fast forward to 2008: Mick tied the knot and later dropped anchor in Stratford-Upon-Avon in his thirties. These days, it’s less about the size of the catch and more about the peace and quiet because nothing says “me time” like a riverbank and a flask of tea. He’s now a lover of the sneaky canal Zander and crafty river Chub, favouring the smaller, twisty rivers where the fish are clever and the dog walkers less plentiful. But the mythical Big Barbel? Still out there, still dodging his net, and still the stuff of dreams (and mild obsession). One day, Barbel... one day. |
