| Introduction | I am an International Development and Microfinance practitioner, writer and researcher with regional expertise in Africa and Latin America. I am currently the Director of External Relations at Shared Interest, the United States' leading nonprofit social investment fund dedicated to the economic development of South Africa. In this capacity, I am responsible for structuring global partnerships with donor agencies, the social investment community, and NGOs for the expansion of our operating budget, loan fund and technical assistance program. Previous to my work at Shared Interest, I held various international research and consulting positions focusing on economic development and microfinance in emerging markets. I have worked with the United Nations’ Presidential Commission in the Dominican Republic focusing on the role of microcredit to advance the Millennium Development Goals and have worked with FINCA International in El Salvador and Mexico focusing on the replicability of village banking. I studied Political Science at Baruch College and completed my Masters Degree in Economic Development focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean at New York University. |
