Introduction	I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML M5) in March 2010. Chemotherapy alone was not likely to cure my particular flavor of AML, so I went to Seattle to have a stem cell transplant using umbilical cords as a cell source (as I was not able to find a matching adult donor). I'm now back home after 4 months of treatment in Seattle, and am now trying to "recover" (which is actually not the right word at all for this process, but I don't know what is). So why am I still blogging now that I'm back? Well, I guess because this didn't quit being a peculiar vacation.
