| Introduction | A B.Com (Hons.) from Bombay University, R.V.Rajan started his advertising career with Clarion Advertising. A veteran adman he is the former CMD of Anugrah Madison Advertising P Ltd. and currently the Chairman of Anugrah Rural Marketing Academy. An acknowledged rural specialist, Rajan was the Founder President of Rural Marketing Agencies Association of India, in which position he continued for 4 years. He has won several awards for his services -notable among them being: Round Table India’s Distinguished Service Award (1984); the Outstanding Service Award from WAN-IFRA, a newspaper publishing industry body (2009) and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Rural Marketing Association of India (2009). Since the publication of a candid autobiography titled Courage my Companion in 2009, Rajan , post retirement has taken to writing regularly on a variety of topics -- for Chennai-based periodicals and for his own blog. His experiences and ideas now translate into lectures at Management Institutes and now a landmark book titled `Don`t Flirt with Rural Marketing- The Handbook of Rural marketing`. His third book is a collection of his essays titled`This & That.. Now & Then`. |
