| Introduction | This is my 16th year teaching! I spent seven years in 2nd grade...but the remainder of that time has been in 1st grade (MY TRUE LOVE!). I currently teach 1st grade at St. Charles Elementary (VA) and love EVERY minute of it! I have a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. I believe teaching is my calling and feel blessed to do what I love! In addition to teaching, I enjoy remodeling our family farmhouse, being active in church activities, and volunteering at a summer camp. THE BIG STUFF: I married my best friend and got a new name on December 17, 2011!! Ms. Elkins is NOW Mrs. Barker! :) On December 20, 2012, we welcomed a new addition to our family: Gage! What a blessing he is to us!! Yep, BIG THINGS HAPPEN TO US IN DECEMBER!~ :) |
