| Introduction | We are an old married couple of five years-- but we still feel like newlyweds. I am a high school Spanish teacher-- a language nerd with a passion for art, history, and different cultures as well as a runner on the side. My strong points are great attention to detail, persistence, empathy, and a generally cheerful nature. Mike is a high school biology teacher-- a critical thinker, a tinkerer, a rock climber, and an outdoor enthusiast. His strong points are his efficiency, his quick wit, and ability to resolve problems without getting too flustered. Together,we are a dynamic duo who is looking to be «más 1»... meaning plus 1 in Spanish. Our family building adventure is leading us to Honduras, where we are looking to adopt a child (of either gender) younger than 2. As I start this blog, we are already making good progress with the initial 2 applications submitted and our homestudy approved. Yet, much of the hard work lies ahead and we are still learning what to expect. This does not worry us too much....Mike and I have had many experiences abroad and our trips together always yield unexpected surprises. Surely, this will be our greatest journey! |
