Why does the color blue mean raspberry-flavored?

Raspberry is, at heart, an insecure fruit, and even more insecure in its disembodied form (a.k.a. "flavor"). Laying claim to the color blue is the raspberry's way of making itself feel superior to the other, more common "red" flavors like cherry or strawberry. It's like a cheerleader who decides to be a goth and then laughs at the cheerleaders.
