Introduction The Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts is a non-profit Center formed in 2003. Its mission is to enhance the heart of downtown by creating a thriving visual arts program that includes exhibits, film screenings, seminars, and related arts activities and events.

Favorite Movies DIVA has exhibited hundreds of independently produced film over the years. In addition it hosts the OpenLens Festival - an annual competition for Oregon filmmakers. The Center also offers classes in screenwriting, history of film, and production.
Favorite Music Our venue has been hosted both the Eugene Noise Festival and the Improvised Music and Image Festival. In addition, experimental music, jazz, and contemporary music has been performed over the years.
Favorite Books The spoken arts have been a part of the Center's programming. An on-going A New Poetry series has featured NW and national writers in a series of monthly readings.
