| Favorite movies | I really love foreign films. I've often wondered why Hollywood doesn't make more of them. Lately, I've seen a lot of Pedro Almodovar. I like Italian films and would like to see more Fellini, as I feel I owe it to myself. A friend recently turned me on to Wong Kar Wai. The great thing about foreign films is that, because I can't understand the language, I don't know how good or bad the acting is. I think, however, that Midaq Alley, a Mexican film version of the Naguib Mahfouz book of the same title, was excellent. |

| Favorite books | I've been reading a lot of Haruki Murakami lately and am very grateful to Josh for letting me borrow his copy of Kafka on the Shore. Right now, however, I'm reading A Confederacy of Dunces. I've just finished Norwegian Wood, and before that I was reading Foucault's Pendulum. there have been a lot of books lately, and I just received more for my birthday. The days are just packed. |
