IntroductionMy dad is a model Railroader and I grew up helping him painting people 1/2 an inch tall and watching steam engines zoom through miniature canyons dominating 500 sq ft of my childhood basement. I was so big, looking down on their tiny lives my dad and I had spent hours tediously assembling. It gave me the ability to see the world from a different point of view, where paint brushes the size of a grain of rice are too big. Eventually I realized not everyone grows up with a secret world hidden in the bowels of their domain. I could saw or spray paint or glue or destroy or rebuild to my heart's content. Perhaps that's why beading ridiculously intricate patterns with beads the size of poppy seeds is so relaxing for me. I spend hours figuring out ways to highlight each piece's unique qualities. I love finding beauty in places often overlooked and seeing the expression on peoples faces the first time they realize just how special of a world we live in.
