Introduction Doug has actively participated in many local, state, Midwestern, and federal art contests and fine art shows. Davis draws his inspiration for all of his artwork from his visits to various natural settings, including parks and wetland refuges. Davis Studios has expanded to Doug’s studio in his current residence of Hawkeye, located in beautiful Northeast Iowa. Studio II, in relation to the original studio in Hiawatha, offers the same quality and dependable services. Among other accomplishments, his work has been chosen for the national Button print for pheasants forever in 2001 in Jackson County, Iowa. His work has won Linn county pheasants forever print contest in 1993 and 1995. He has placed in the state level competition, placing third in the 2006 ducks unlimited print of the year contest.
Interests Hiawatha native, neighboring near Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A graduate of Hawkeye Community College and Upper Iowa University, Davis has a Bachelor Science degree in the Arts.He has expanded his studio to his current residence in Northeast Iowa with his wife Kathy called Studio II. His love of wildlife and his desire to capture quality works keep him returning to the wonders of nature.
