Introduction	a collage of sorts: quotations, poetry, questions, music, videos, images... an account of the day's revelation and frustration. this is my first dive into this strange public-private sphere. it makes sense though, i'm bad at keeping my own secrets. and i want to do this here; be forced to gather my scattered ideas and use this space to commit to them. i have almost abandoned this blog and begun somewhere else several times. but here it is, in it's sporadic imperfection. these are whirling and intersecting musings. an attempt to assemble the pieces of my identity as a loud and opinionated female, white, middle-class, queer, jewish, brooklynite, bassist, composer, singer, educator, poet, and student of jazz, reared by divorced parent-educator-writer/ musicians, and who recently left school for the first time in 17 years with a B.A., some creative energy and some combination of optimism and cynicism. i want to tell stories. i want to change people's minds. i want logical explanations for the things i feel in my gut. and i want to know that feeling them is enough explanation. i've got patience and faith and a head full of songs.
