Occupation Professional Photographer

Introduction Specializing in freelance assignments, stock, and fine art photography. Nature, wildlife, landscapes, and travel photography are what I concentrate on. But I also enjoy many other types of photography. Early on in life I was entirely self taught with a lot of trial and error. Photography was put on the back burner for many years with my law enforcement career and family. Digital started getting me interested in photography again. My first digital camera was a Nikon point and shoot. I enrolled in college level classes in photography and Adobe Photoshop. Becoming a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals has taken my photography and photo editing skills to a much higher level. Continuing education is vital, and I try to take as many photography and Photoshop seminars as time permits to continue to learn and improve my skills. I currently have several Canon SLR bodies and use their professional "L" series lenses. When I finally got up the nerve to display my work in a regional art show, I sold quite a few prints and ended up with a sizeable tax form to file. So the seeds were planted to see if I could continue to work at being a professional photographer.
