IntroductionI am a third year Ph.D. student in biblical studies at Baylor University with an emphasis on Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. I received my BA in religion from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD and my MTS from Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC. I was born in Mitchell, SD, home of the 'world famous' Corn Palace (google it). My parents own the only pet store in Mitchell, and have for the last 30+ years. I am married to my wonderful wife Taryn, who has graciously been by my side throughout this stressful process known as graduate school, and we have a son, Evan, who is almost 2. My interests, thus, tend to intersect with his. Therefore, some of my favorite things include throwing tantrums, reading the same book over and over, coloring on the furniture, and watching TV shows like Blue's Clues and Jack's Big Music Show (ok, this last one is actually kinda true). My academic interests include the book of Genesis, specifically the texts of deception in the Jacob cycle; Old Testament Theology; Psalms; historical Jesus; Gospel of Matthew; ancient and modern Jewish history and philosophy; and anything pertaining to the study and origins of Judaism.
InterestsGenesis, the Jacob cycle (Gen 25-36), Old Testament Theology, Psalms, historical Jesus, Gospel of Matthew, ancient and modern Jewish history and philosophy, Judaism, professional wrestling, video games
Favorite moviesThe Naked Gun trilogy, Rat Race, Rent, Moulin Rouge, Schindler's List, Indiana Jones trilogy

Well, maybe they don't need them, but don't you think that some fish might like a bicycle?

Given that my parents own a pet store, I think this question is fitting. Of course some fish would enjoy a bicycle. It couldn't be bad for business either, could it? I mean, who wouldn't pay top dollar for a fish who could ride a bike?
