Introduction	I am head of Journalism at Liverpool John Moores Univeristy. After working as a journalist for more than 20 years, I started teaching. I am a former president of the National Union of Journalists, and am immediate past Chair of the Association for Journalism Education. I am also chair of the NUJ's Ethics Council.
