| Introduction | We moved to Birkenhead from Liverpool when I was 11. I 'upgraded' from Enid Blyton to Agatha Christie. I like murder mysteries and am also addicted to knitting so I am reading the series of knitting murder mystery stories by Maggie Sefton, a New York Times bestselling author. In the past I've read Daphne Du Maurier, P G Wodehouse, Stephen King, Terry Pratchett, Dan Brown, Robert Louis Stevenson. I have read the Sherlock Holmes stories and also The Count of Monte Cristo. After I left school I went to Birkenhead Technical College and learnt shorthand and typing. I became a secretary. I hosted a writing group at my house and produced a simple A4 magazine of the members' work. This, I feel, was the forerunner of Crystal Magazine. I was the President and Secretary (at the same time) of a local women's social group. I am assistant leader with the Brownies and am called Snowy Owl. I have a grandson, Dylan, and two identical twin granddaughters Liliana and Rosabelle. |
