| Introduction | I’m a writer who enjoys penning both speculative fiction and poetry; an admittedly odd pairing which initially came together as a coping mechanism, but are now pursued, at least in terms of poetry, solely for pleasure. If interested, you can read a brief narrative of that journey in my chapbook 'The Scribbler Manifesto.' As a lifelong fan of cyberpunk and tech noir literature, I wanted to produce a series of books that followed humanity from a broadly recognisable (if worrying) present, into a foreseeable future where inherent human characteristics and an ever-increasing pandora's box of technology lead to serious moral questions and inevitable conflict. 'Ghost in the Machine' is the first step on that journey. I live in Herne Bay, England with my wife Jo and dog, Max. You can read more about me, my upcoming books, and even get in touch through my website marcuswhitnell.org |

Your bow is not broken but you've run out of arrows. How can you fake being a bard?
Who did let the dogs out?
