| Introduction | Where and when? I was born somewhere in the Western world on a Thursday in 1983. Who? I am an Orthodox Christian, a writer, a wife, and a mother of two. What and why? "Beauty will save the world." Dostoyevsky. LEVITAN'S FIELDS Isaac Levitan was a 19th-century Russian landscape painter. The header image in this blog is of his painting 'Vladimirka',(1892) a road that was used since the medieval times and which took on penal associations in the 19th century. The road is enlivened only by a church in the distance under the heavy grey sky. |
