| Introduction | I grew up in and around NYC, traveled extensively, then returned for good in the mid-'80s. B.S. from Northwestern, M.S. from Columbia Journalism School. I have worked as an editor, political campaign staffer, actor, voiceover artist, stand-up comic and other jobs too numerous to mention, but my first love has always been putting words on paper. I have been a professional writer since high school, producing novels, short stories, plays, film and TV scripts, essays, reviews, journalism...just about everything except haiku. Some of it has been published in the alternative press (THE READER, L.A.; THE REAL PAPER, Boston), the Jewish press (FORWARD and JEWISH WEEK, New York City; TIKKUN) and the satirical press (SPY). I recently completed a satirical novel and am working on a non-fiction book about stand-up comedy, while hustling various other freelance writing gigs. |
