| Introduction | I am a gardener and a writer. Gardening is something I do restoratively and professionally; for the ecology - and the sanity. I have gardened up and down the West Coast from Oregon to Santa Cruz and across the Pacific in New Zealand. Each garden is a kingdom; each excursion into it a quest. My other passion is poetry – both writing and reading it. I have been systematically writing short explications of Emily Dickinson poems on my Prowling Bee blog for the past eight years. I only have about a thousand more poems to go! I have also written and published short fiction and book reviews. To me, gardening, Emily Dickinson, and writing are all part of loving this beautiful planet we are blessed to inhabit. |
