Introduction	A well known bumper sticker begins...I'd rather be... mine would read, "I'd rather be cooking". Not the day to day family meals that suck the fun, creativity and enjoyment out of cooking but the creations that are sometimes days or weeks in the planning and are savoured rather than consumed (or inhaled in the case of some members of the family). Food and cooking has been a passion for me for quite a number of years. It is a way to relax and reconnect with what is important...family and friends. My mother has a recipe book that is hand written and splattered with food that belonged to my grandmother and one of he own...equally splattered with food. Living and embracing a more technological world, I know that I will have nothing like this to pass on to my family. This blog in effect becomes that recipe book. One that I can refer to (which means I can clear out the scraps of paper and badly organised clear file folder of recipes) and one that the kids can use, (in fact one already has) to find the recipes I use on a regular basis and those for special occasions.
