Introduction	Danny and I have been together for 25 years now and married for most of that time! For many years we talked about spending our retirement abroad and we always imagined it would be in Fuerteventura, the Canary Island we loved to go to for our holidays. But when it came to it, we realised that, while we loved the island for holidays, it had little to offer if you lived there permanently. So we started to consider France, which we loved also. After some research, we were sold the idea that the region of Poitou-Charentes was the second sunniest region in France and we decided to up sticks and move here. We have lived in France for over three years now and love the way of life it offers. Okay, the climate isn't as great as we were led to believe but there is plenty of sunshine.
