IntroductionThis picture of me was drawn by my comic-artist daughter, Corinne. See lots of her stuff at maidenhousefly.com. My patient wife, Anne, and my Eagle-scout son, Alex, are more real-world souls. Me, I've been writing and editing for The Philadelphia Inquirer since 1987. Last year, I compiled Kids Have All the Answers, a collection of thoughts and illustrations by Philly area students. I once cowrote How to Break 100, a golf book, with my dad. My HearSay puzzle ran in the Philadelphia Daily News for seven years (anybody want me to post some?), and a card game I invented is still sold in Finland. Oh, some newspaper headlines I wrote that people said they liked: "Yabba dabba doodles" (about prehistoric cave art), "You don't send me flours anymore" (about how low-carb diets affect relationships), and "Geyser gazer, or old unfaithful?" (Dear Anne Landers, think my hubby's really at Yellowstone or is he cheating on me?). Also, visit my personal blog, stealmyideasplease.com.
