Introduction I am a geologist/geochemist with an interest in analytical method development and a background in stable isotope geochemistry and palaeoclimate. I am working on techniques to improve the chances of detecting organic matter by future Mars missions through increasing understanding on how various minerals present on the Martian surface react under pyrolysis GCMS. Previously I have worked on the isotopic geochemistry of carbonates and their palaoenvironmental significance including corals, snails, mudrock-hosted concretions and tufas. Blog posts are a mix of science outreach, frustrated rambling and random geological things I think are cool - usually related to climbing
Interests Geology, Geochemistry, Stable isotopes, Palaeoclimate, Mass Spectrometry, Carbonates, Astrobiology, Mars
