| Introduction | Helicopters have been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Sixty years ago, Dad came down from Buffalo with Larry Bell; and, Pat McGuire spent the next 30+ years living, breathing, and loving helicopters and selling them around the world. During the early days, it wasn’t unusual for Dad to bring key customers home for dinner … these industry pillars would join hands for dinner, share amazing stories, and retire to the den to smoke cigars, enjoy a beverage, and together design a new application for the helicopter … or theorize on the next generation helicopter. Oh, how I wish I had a recording of these incredibly animated sessions. As most kiddos, I worshipped Dad and wanted to be a part of the helicopter industry. I chose a different path – through financial services - and off I went to get a couple of degrees from TCU before joining Bell’s finance team some 40 years ago. As they say, the rest is history and boy, have I enjoyed every moment. I’ve had the privilege to develop and cheer-lead a variety of aviation finance companies and have been blest to be associated with fantastic colleagues. Would I change a moment - sure, but there would be darn few of them. |
