| Introduction | This is the blog for the Utah Filk Organization, or UFO, where you can find updates on what our local group is currently working on. The broad definition of "filk" is science fiction and fantasy themes set to music, either original or what we like to call "filked", which is something set to the tune of another song, often a parody. However, some filks touch on things as mainstream as cats or computers or as far reaching as someone’s unpublished fictional works. Though filk is usually written in folk style, it can be set to most any genre of music. You will encounter filk music most often at Science Fiction and Fantasy conventions, though with this group we are hoping to spread filk beyond these limits. |
