| Introduction | Ellie Burck is an aspiring young artist, writer, and musician. She is a generator of ideas and action, and has pursued an independent education that’s taken her around the United States. Her passion for the environment and outdoors brought her to Conserve School where she spent a semester-long immersion in environmental studies and outdoor activities tucked up in the north woods of Wisconsin. In the summer of 2011, Ellie traveled to Santa Barbara, California for a two and a half week intensive program called Ocean for Life, where she and 25 other students from around the world learned about the diverse life of the marine ecosystems and the diverse peoples across the planet, and how we are all connected. While there she was mentored by National Geographic photographers in the Media Camp, and it ignited in her not only a keen interest in composition, but in design and how people look and perceive the world around them. Now in her senior year of high school, Ellie has been accepted into Antioch College to pursue New Media on a full ride, and is ready to delve into the new experience and explore the possibilities that await her. |
