Occupation | Translator and Interpreter of Spanish to English |
Location | Guelph, Ontario, Canada |
Introduction | I am Canadian but have lived most of my adult life abroad in Guatemala, Mexico and France. I now make my home in beautiful Guelph, Ontario. I hold an Honours B.A. in Spanish from the University of Guelph and work as a freelance interpreter and translator, mostly from Spanish to English, although I am also fluent in French. As a mother of four beautiful children, I lead an active life, and spending time with my kids and my partner David de Weerdt is what I love the most. I am an avid cyclist and have been a devotee of hot yoga since last year, and I play the piano and the accordion. I have experience growing, marketing and exporting gourmet organic shade coffee, and I have a small coffee business. My partner David has an Internet startup, a culture acceleration engine in the development phase which will integrate the social, topical, temporal and geographical coordinates in one platform, allowing people to form communities around shared interests. Since meeting David, I am following tech and social trends with far more interest! I am excited about linguistics, translation, interpretation, cross-cultural communication and localization, yoga, environmental issues, and photo blogs. |
