| Introduction | I was born and raised in Washington State and now live in Kirkland with my husband Ryan and our two cats. I graduated from the University of Washington in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts and a Minor in Business Administration. Ryan also graduated from UW so we are big husky fans. For the past year, I have been working on my Teaching Certification at the University of Washington, Bothell. My professional background includes working at a nonprofit organization, Downtown Action to Save Housing (DASH). I immensely enjoyed my time working at a nonprofit organization, but something was always missing. In 2008 I pondered changing careers and the only thing I could imagine doing was working with children. I volunteered with children and teenagers during college at the Northshore Family Center, Northshore YMCA and Lake Hills Boys and Girls Club, so I decided to volunteer my time again in my friend’s first grade classroom. I guess you could say the rest was history! I am more than a year into my program and loving it! Now, I just need to get my creative juices flowing and start blogging! |
