Location Florida, United States
Introduction I’ve been active since our local chapter was founded–including serving 3 times on the Board of Directors and on a number of committees. I’ve seen the chapter expand geographically and develop into a more professional organization. I’ve been in the hospitality/tourism industry since 1978 when I was the Executive Director of the Broward County Hotel & Motel Association (7 years); experienced different segments of our industry as Director of Promotion and Marketing for Grayline Transportation, as an ad sales rep for Travel Agent Magazine, and for over 10 years in marketing and public relations for Grand Bahama Vacations (a tour operator/division of Princess Hotels that operated with LakerBahamas Airways). After semi-retiring, I went back to work in community relations – at AutoNation and then at the Ft. Lauderdale Chamber. Semi-retired again, (I keep trying), I'm now working in tourism marketing and public relations. In September 2007, I began writing this blog. Then in 2008, I became the Managing Director and the Chapter was awarded the "Chapter of the Year" designation. After 2 years as MD, I'm now moving on to new challenges.
