Introduction	I’m a Mom, a Person of Faith and a Counselor. In college I got in with a crowd that was deistic at best; I went to a Catholic college, but they didn’t require Mass, so I stopped going. Then my son was born - and I realized that my life was missing something significant - God. A few years later my grandfather had a stroke. Yet, during the next 2 years my son and I had many blessings. I remember my grandfather’s joy at seeing "the boy" - my son. He tried to teach me to polka. I took him to Mass - when I hadn't been to myself in years. I was afraid to go to Confession for a long time, so I would miss Communion - and sometimes I remember crying. I finally went at Easter, and the priest was so kind! My son is 20 now, and looking for work - he's tall, needs a haircut, and plays video games all day! He wants to be guidance counselor "when he grows up". I am a licensed as a social worker - for years I worked mostly with mentally and physically handicapped individuals. I was an outreach counselor - mostly with children. For 7 years I worked doing the emergency psych evaluations at the ER. Since summer 2009 I've worked as a clinician at a substance abuse clinic.
