| Introduction | A passion for spice & cooking has always been a part of my life! Born in Bombay, India, I had been globetrotting ever since my hotelier father moved the family to Dubai when I was three. Over the course of 28 years, I have lived, studied, and worked in nearly 20 countries across four continents. And it didn’t stop there. The travelling continued even after I met my future husband, Kevin Brennan, in Accra, Ghana. Kevin’s work in far-flung parts of the world saw us living out of suitcases for the next five years. In Dec 2002 when I was pregnant with our third child, we decided to stop our gypsy lifestyle and settle down in Dublin. Dublin was perfect of course, but I missed the flavours and aromas of my travelling years. But more importantly, like most parents, we became conscious about what we fed our children. This is when we first began to take notice of Organic produce and rapidly soon after become advocates of the movement. I was sure that if organic carrots and apples were so much more flavourful then surely the same would be true for spices. And I suppose it was this thought process that eventually led me to tap into the organic spice market and thus, Orgapod was born! |
