| Introduction | So I have to write about me And my journey It started way back when I was young The tastes created in my mouth My mother, grandmother, neighbours and friends They all fed me and made many memories That remains in my head waiting to come out One day I hope my children and grandchildren Will read these and try to make them So they know the flavours and tastes of my childhood and youth To blend Salt and Sweet Bitter and Sour Heat and Cool Pungent and Astringent For we all know we are what we eat And all of us have these qualities in us in varying forms! I am an Australian mother of two, of South Indian origin. My aim is to recreate the magic of the food that I grew up with, with the limited ingredients I get here in Melbourne.
