| Introduction | Jim Belshaw was born and raised in Richmond BC moving up to the Okanagan with his young family 21 years ago. For most of his working career he was involved in the hospitality industry. Whether he was cooking, managing or owning restaurants he thrived on the direct interaction with people. Jim Belshaw got into the shoe repair business in 2007 when the previous owner couldn’t find a purchaser for Roy’s Shoes whose was also willing to learn the shoe repair trade. (Jim was also looking for his own business again where he could work a somewhat more normal schedule. He now works 60 hours instead of 100 hours a week and has 2 staff instead of 50.) Jim is committed to his community and is a proud Rotarian. Jim is on the boards of the Downtown Kelowna Association and the BCRFA ( BC Restaurant and Foodservice Association. ) He also is a huge supporter of Downtown Kelowna becoming a viable mixed use community that supports live, work and play opportunities for both residents and visitors. Jim and his wife live downtown, 3 blocks from where his business operates. |
