Introduction	I cleared the virus! Completed 72 weeks of tx on Feb. 6, 2009. Pegetron 135 µg weekly and Ribavirin 1000 mg daily. I am 54 years old, married, mother of two children and was diagnosed in January 2007 with Hepatitis C. This blog has been created to document my journey through treatment to try and clear the virus. I have added here for my own reference while I am clear headed prior to treatment why I am treating in case I lose my way during treatment and want to quit. I am treating for the following: Mental Health – I lost myself, my goals, my sense of well-being when diagnosed with Hep C Constant haunting ache right side and back Fatigue (very noticeable since September 2006 – Prior to that I just pushed through it) Sore Joints Mild flu like symptoms from time to time Unknown when I became infected with virus
Interests	Prior to being diagnosed with Hep C I was a runner. I always walked for exercise for years and in 1999 I started running and did get up to an amateur level of 5 kilometers several times a week. I haven’t run since the fatigue took over in October 2006. I couldn’t finish two runs in a row and I figured I was just too exhausted from other things. I never dreamed that I had an unknown virus attacking my liver. I love to cook and entertain my friends and family. I have copious amounts of cookbooks and gardening books.
Favorite movies	The Sting, Star Wars, Logan's Run, The Postman (Sorry, I liked it) Shawshank (spelling?)Redemption
Favorite music	I’m a child of the late 60’s early 70’s and can sing along with the best of The Beatles, CCR, BTO, Lynard Skynard, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Rolling Stones, Guess Who, Rod Stewart, Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, Doobie Brothers, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, April Wine, ZZ Top, George Thorogood, Ry Cooter, John Prine, Bob Seger, Blues Brothers, Barenaked Ladies I love all types of music except rap. I am tired of rap. It was neat when Blondie did it. Now it’s so boring and vulgar that the rap stars only seem to have a good hit now when they add famous music lyrics and notes from the 60’s & 70’s to it.
Favorite books	I love to read and I always have a book on the go. I read fiction, non fiction, mysteries, science fiction, life stuff, magazines and internet.
