About me

Introduction I am the daughter of a marine biologist, and from early childhood I explored meadows, ponds, swamps, forests, mountains, deserts, and oceans with my family. When we travelled, we carried field guides, bird books, maps of prehistoric sites, and binoculars wherever we went. We also went to every art gallery and museum, and from a very early age I began to combine my two passions: art and the natural world. After graduating from U.C. Berkeley, I did pen and ink illustrations of marine algae for Stanford’s Hopkins Marine Station and for Entomology at U.C. Berkeley, and I began working as an illustrator at the Lawrence Hall of Science. I eventually became Art Director for publications, and we designed most of the museum’s publications and curriculum materials for decades. Ten years ago I began to design bookplates for Stanford University Libraries. Currently I am doing illustration, bookplate design, pet portraiture, and fine arts landscape painting.
