| Introduction | Trained as a journalist, Barbara K Kincaid was a speechwriter and press aide on Capitol Hill who then took her skills to the nonprofit sector, including a college, a medical school and hospital. In 1996, she and two other partners founded Consultants on Purpose, LLC. The corporation focused on nonprofit management, strategic planning and fundraising. The consulting business also meant she had more control over her schedule and was able to consider providing hands-on care to both parents in their last years. After 10 years as an Alzheimer’s family caregiver, she has embarked on a new calling – advocate for Alzheimer’s research and family caregiving educator. |
