Introduction Inspired by my lifelong love for dance, I've created a comprehensive dance exercise program that keeps my students (and me!) fit and healthy.  In my native Puerto Rico, I trained in various forms of classical dance starting at age three, and I danced professionally for two years.  I also have extensive teaching experience in Latin dance styles, including salsa (etc).  My expertise in dance is reflected in the variety, flow, and sound movement structure of my dance exercise program.  It's art! Yet, Im a scientist too, and so this is an efficient workout that includes time-tested techniques for effective and safe exercising. Cardiovascular, endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, and relaxation exercises are incorporated into in every class with emphasis in proper body alignment and breathing. 30-plus years of teaching experience supports my conviction that we need an equilibrium between good nutrition, physicality, and mindful exercise. The diversity of movements in dance optimize fitness, heighten energy level, and release endorphins (feel-good molecules) in the body for enjoyment and fun, all while preventing injury!
