Introduction	I'm an Ed.D. Candidate in Interdisciplinary Studies and I'm interested in visual literacy, poetics, narrative theories, cultural history, etc. The readings offer a glimpse into "ways of seeing," from a variety of perspectives, including phenomenological stances. The readings look rich and I look forward to discussions and engagements through the multi-faceted and complex discourse that we collectively and openly navigate. I appreciate how the constellation of ideas within visual studies and media culture require much negotiation, mediation, and reflection. The balance between uncertainty and discovery are compelling, with practical pedagogical implications: understanding what we see/hardly see is critical, yet eluding.
