| Introduction | I’m no one special. I’m the son of a preacher and school teacher. I’ve lived a relatively nondescript life. I’ve never run for office. I’ve never caught the winning touchdown pass—except in college, but that was dorm flag football. I’ve never built a great organization or saved someone from a burning building. I’m an every-man. I’m the guy next door. I’m more talented than some people and not as talented as others; and I’m as messed up as everyone else. However, above all else, I’m a follower of Christ, but more often than I care to admit, I’m hanging on to that faith by my fingernails. |
